The Clermont-Ferrand Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU), the largest public employer in the Auvergne region, fulfills missions of care, teaching, research, and prevention across its three hospital sites. At the regional level, the CHU serves as a referral facility for medical, surgical, and obstetric activities, including a level-3 maternity ward, prenatal diagnosis, assisted reproductive technology (ART), gynecology, pain management, oncology, organ transplants and grafts, cardiac surgery, interventional radiology, neurosurgery, polytrauma care, stroke unit, obesity management, genetics, and more.
